Another Chapter - Growing vines in Midlands Tasmania
Barton Vineyard was established in 2001 on the property “Barton” near Campbell Town in Midlands Tasmania.
The current owners Frank & Milly Youl have recently sold the property including the 2 hectares of vineyard, and will be moving on early next year (2015)
For the time being they are happy to say that they have a good supply of their ever popular range of wines in stock for our discerning customers.
Recently they won a GOLD medal (Pinot Noir 2013) and a SILVER medal (Vintage Sparkling Blanc de Noir 2008) at the National Cool Climate Wine Show held in Bathurst, NSW. These awards cap off earlier success with a GOLD medal (Riesling 2013) at the 2014 Tasmanian Wine Show.
The venture into viticulture in an area which is traditionally a wool growing region has proved the sceptics wrong, and Frank & Milly wish the new owners every success should they continue the Vineyard operation.
At the moment, and for the short term we are still operating as Barton Vineyard with no change to the label. We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of you who have given your support over the years. Those friends who have helped with picking, as well as our small trusty team of year round workers. It has been a terrific journey and particular thanks to anyone out there who have enjoyed consuming the wine!
Cheers and Good Wishes,
Frank & Milly Youl
